The Deveroux Building - Board Room - Ventrue Clan Meeting

Clarissa beams a smile Jerome's way.
"Thank you."
Senchenal Catsgrace notices. "So, Jerome, how goes your Restruant?"

"You see one corporation as an umbrella corp serves our purpose. The giovanni and setites cant buy shares in a private limited company as it does not operate on the stock market. It gives all of us greater access within the company. However the Umbrella corporation has no function appart from colating a bit of data. The real companys are the smaller ones underneath it. Its good that you think of our security in such a way. However do we need it? Would the giovanni or setites be so bold as to try and take all of us on? Knowing full well the citys top 3 richest people are within our own clan. My theroy is to make it easier for us to manage. There is no reason why the giovanni or setites should know we own this company. Allthough its up to you guys. If we switch to smaller companys spread out it makes it harder to transfer cash and resources accross divisions. It would also mean each of you eventually running one such company in the name of the clan. I dont want to hurt feelings if I ask for access to the accounting data. I trust you all, but Im good with this sort of thing and like to make sure I am managing the money you all trust me with well."

She pauses

"Its up to the board. You all know Im not a dictator. I will leave it in your hands"

The Senchenal says, "Perhaps we should put it to a formal vote. Each of you pass a piece of paper with your vote of yes, no or abstaining or need more info, and we can have them counted and determine what course of action we should take in this regard."
"A. The approval of forming and financing an Umbrella Corporation, with smaller businesses within it, directed by the Ventrue for our purposes. B. Granting Catherine access to the information of accounting and other information she needs to ensure the intergity and well being of this corporation for our interests. C. The Establishment of a "dummy corporation" to act as a target for our potential enemies, which if it does manage to make any profits, could be then either donated to A. The Ventrue Fund or B. put it to the Prince's discretion, and gain some of her gratitude." "Let us vote on this, would you say?" He looks at Catherine.

Mako writes his answer on a peice of paper. Then awaits Catherines response before passing it.

Justin Diamond does the same.

Tomas also does this.

The Senchenal does the same and looks at you.

As does Clarissa looking up at you.

She takes out her pen and writes as she talks "Yes a vote is fine by me"

She writes A, B & C on a peice of paper. Writing Yes, Yes, No.

When/if Jerome votes, the papers would be collected and the votes counted by...

Jerome casts his vote to be counted.

"Ok so the matter is decided. The umbrella corporation will be set up tomorrow as well as a dummy corporation. I will send you all an e-mail after the meeting tonight just for a bit of information from you all."

She pauses.

"I think that is everything. Does anyone have any other business?"

Justin Diamond says,
"Well, after all this, Primogen, perhaps we should take some time, if you're available, to get to know one another a little better, I've realized that in my travels, we haven't really had the opportunity much."


It seems otherwise business is good, other than deciding to put the proceeds to the Ventrue or to the city from the dummy corporation.

"I would advise all funds are kept inside the clan. Simply giving the prince money every month does nothing to help us. In fact the prince would rely on that money and should we make a change and reduce it or stop we may encounter problems. If the city needs money I suggest its treated on a case by case basis and done via requests. It gives us more power rather than freely giving it away. As for getting to know each other you are more than welcome to stay after the meeting to talk as allways. Which reminds me, Jerome I would like a word in private if possible"

The Senchenal after considering this, reluctantly agrees.


Mr. Diamond nods and stays in his chair.

The rest bow out and go off.

The Senchenal catches Clarissa,
"A word, if you don't mind."
"Yes sire."
They go off together.

Clarissa leans over to Jarome and whispers.

"We need to keep an eye on that one"

"indeed"

Mr. Diamond turns back and forth in his swivel chair, patiently waiting for her time.

"So Mr Diamond, is it just mining and charity work or do you operate in other business areas as well?"

He stops his chair and smiles,
"Well, we mine Diamonds, make Jewelry and do non-profit work bringing animals to zoos worldwide. Though the last, is alas, not as non self serving as it would appear, given my particular appetite, I feed on animals, I'm a zooitarian, so to speak."
I also am somewhat of a photographer and a fairly good hunter. I suppose I've learned a thing or so in my time." He smiles, "What about yourself?"

"I operate within the financial sector. I own this company which is a legal and finance company that deal with just about everything in their sectors. I also own more smaller companys than I can remember. Each does various different things. I mainly specialise in my field but as you can guess I have many skills. I am very very good with accounting information. The CIA and FBI on a number of occasions have asked me to look at some accounts. I suppose thats it without trying to remember 500 years worth of information."

Cat pauses for a few moments

"As for feeding habbits, I would advise that you dont advertise to other kindred your particular feeding habbit. The ventrue most of all. I myself dont care, just as long as it does not cause trouble. However 99% of our clan will look down on you for your particular habbit."

"Well, we don't get to choose our feeding habits as Ventrue now do we?" He says.
"If I can feed off of a human, I haven't run across the type yet." But I don't generally advertise no.
"impressive, regarding the CIA and FBI, yet...a little risky. Those type of agencys have long memories, in the form of files, and they might notice you living a little longer than you should as a human."

Cat smiles and chuckles "As far as they are aware my great great grandmother started the company. It was put in trust for my great grandmother. She took over and when she died it passed to her daughter. Of course they have no idea that its actually me taking over each time. I occasionally get a ghoul to act as me so that I dont look the same each time. Change my hair and makeup style each time. I take every precaution available."

"Good, good. Well, it seems you have the business of being Primogen well in hand."
He gets up.
"Would you care to see the zoo, I could arrange a night visit?"
